2014年4月、ウクライナ危機の最中。
統一教会は、ヨーロッパの統合を目指した欧州評議会（欧州評議会(CoE) は欧州連合(EU)とは何の関係もない）の元事務総長のウォルター・シュワイマーを日本に招き、三都で講演会を行った。これを自民党議員がへこへこと迎えているわけだけれども。
シュワイマー氏は、当時まだロシアとウクライナが加盟していたCoEを欧州の指導者がもっと活用すれば良いのだと宣うたが、ウクライナ戦争が勃発した2022年、CoEは1996年から加盟していたロシアをあっさり排除した。

文一家に精神病者が続出

文鮮明こと文龍明は、父・文慶裕と母・金慶継の間の7人の子供の次男として生まれた。
男子は長男・文龍壽、次男・文鮮明、三男・文龍官（男女の双子。文鮮明の８歳年下。7-8歳で死亡）。

1920年2月25日（陰暦1月6日）（公式） 平安北道定州郡徳彦面上思里2、221番地にて、「文慶裕」氏と「金慶継」夫人の次男として、「文龍明」生誕。兄が1人、姉が3人、弟妹が5人ぐらいとされる。
文龍明数え年15歳、この頃、文一家に精神病者が続出したのをきっかけに（文龍明を含む）文一家が儒教からキリスト教に改宗。
『文少年の十五歳の頃、わざわいはさらに文少年自体の家にやって来た。二番目の姉さんが発狂し、上を下への大騒ぎをしている時、兄さんまでが精神異常となった。ふだんは大人しい性格なのに、ばか力を出し、自分に従わぬ者は殺してしまうとどなって、屋上に飛びあがったり、飛び降りたり・・・仕方なく手錠をはめたら、監視の目を盗んで手錠のまま逃げだし、はては怪力で手錠を壊してしまうという始末、文家の人々はこれはただごとではないと悟り、勧められてキリスト教に入信した』（野村健二（43双）1975年著 主の路程「文鮮明先生の半生－血と汗と涙」より（1975～1976年に「新天地」に連載））
『そして一九三四年、十五歳の春、平北定州にある私立五山普通学校三学年に編入、初めて新学問を履修し始められた。丁度この頃、文一族には蕩減の役事としての大きな試練が始まっていた。結婚した二番目の姉と兄が恐ろしい精神異常となり、末の叔父の家では大艱難が相次いで押し寄せた。』（1978年刊「統一教会史 上巻」より）
教会の長老であった文慶天（いとこの文昇龍の父親）の勧めで、病気を治すため、文一家は教会に通うようになり、全員がキリスト教に改宗。次姉（文孝淳）と長兄（文龍壽）の精神病が按手祈疇を通して治癒したことから、「猫頭山」（標高310ｍ）のふもとにある「徳興長老教会」に入教した。（2009年金寧社刊 文教祖自叙伝「世界を愛する世界人として」より）
1934年〜1935年トラックをヒッチハイクして朝鮮半島全国を遍歴。1935年4月 定州公立普通学校4学年に転校。
1935年（現在の公式）4月17日（水曜日）、現在の北朝鮮定州の「猫頭山」において、数え年16歳の文鮮明は霊的に出会ったイエス・キリストから“メシアとして果たせなかった使命を果たしてほしい”と頼まれたと自称してきた。彼はその責任の重さに何度も断ったが、最終的に受け入れたという（アメリカのテレビのインタビューでは「イエスはヘブライ語なまりの韓国語で話した」と答えている）。

Dr.Schwimmer's visit to Japan was overshadowed by *a crisis in Ukraine, especially following Russia's annexation of Crimea. The subsequent tension between Russia vs. the USA and Europe has become one of the most serious challenges in the post-Cold War era. Thanks to his high-level experiences in the European diplomacy and his relations with Russian leadership through the World Public Forum which he chairs, Japan's major media organizations sent their reporters to listen to his views.
In a press conference at the National Press Center right after his lecture in Tokyo, Dr. Schwimmer pointed out, as one reason of the escalated tension, that European leaders did not utilize good offices of the CoE in which both Russia and Ukraine were its members. He stressed that the crisis should be resolved through peaceful diplomacy and dialogue. His interviews were published by several major newspapers.
The ideal of Cheon Il Guk means creating an environment of one world family under God's love. A nation achieving something close to this ideal in the contemporary context may be the United States of America, which was settled by emigrants from diverse racial and religious backgrounds. But it is Europe that has advanced a regional cooperation and integration among the existing sovereign states.
For instance, now 24 states use EURO as their common single currency, while 25 nations allow their citizens to cross across their common borders without passport control, free flows of goods, money and services without customs control. Roughly speaking, citizens of the 28 countries forming the Europen Union
can live in any of these countries for study, employment or marriage. They more or less experience like one nation divided only by their linguistic barriers.
In Asia, by comparison, especially the East Asia consisting Japan, South and North Koreas, China and Taiwan witness little clues for their integration, rather, undergoing sour relations, hampering mutual cooperation. However, the CIG ideal essentially requires collaboration between Japan and South Korea, or the re-unification of the Korean peninsula.
In this light, Japan's Council of Ambassadors for Peace as well as the Universal Peace Federation-Japan invited Dr. Walter Schwimmer who had served in the
forefront of the European integration and peace. His lecture programs were organized in Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo under the title: Peace-building processes in Europe and Proposals to East Asia.
Dr. Schwimmer served the Council of Europe (CoE), a 47-nation intergovernmental body of Europe, as its secretary general for five years since 1999. Still pursuing the dream of one Europe, he is currently engaged in the World Public Forum Dialogue of Civilizations, a non-government organization endorsed by the United Nations, as its co-chair.
Dr. Yong Cheon Song, UPF-Japan's Regional Chair, met with Dr. Schwimmer while Dr. Song was responsible for the UPF Europe. Moved by Dr. Schwimmer's passion for one Europe, Dr. Song read carefully Dr. Schwimmer's book entitled 'The European Dream'. Dr. Schwimmer later helped UPF organize the Europe-Urasia Dialogue. This time, he came over to Japan at the invitation of Dr. Song.
The CoE has aspired to create one peaceful Europe on the principles of democracy, human rights and rule of law. It was established in 1949, shortly after the World War II, developing to cover most of the countries in the European continent of 800 million people.
In Tokyo, Japan-Europe Leadership Forum on April 3rd was attended by 26 current members of the Diet, Japan's national parliament, 5 foreign ambassadors as well as some 90 scholars, journalists and religious figures. In the following two days, Japan-Europe Special Seminar Program brought 540 guests in Osaka and 650 guests in Sapporo respectively.
Cherry blossoms in full bloom exclaimed Dr. Schwimmer in Tokyo and Osaka, while he was exited by snowy streets in Sapporo, capital of the northern island of Hokkaido.
The 3-day, 3-city itinerary was accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. Song as well as Rev. Eiji Tokuno, President of UPF-Japan. They introduced Dr. Schwimmer to the guests and exchanged friendship with them.
In his welcome remark, Dr. Song hoped to "apply Europe's wisdoms towards its integration and peace in the tension-rising north east Asia." For this lecture program, Dr. Thomas Walsh, President of UPF International, accompanied the tour, introducing UPF's global activities including peace initiatives for the Middle East and the North East Asia. The audience was impressed by UPF's interfaith endeavors that are drawing attention of the United Nations and the Vatican, the heart of the Catholic faith.
At the onset of each lecture, Dr. Schwimmer paid tribute to a Japanese woman called Mitsuko Aoyama who got married to an Austrian diplomat, because their son, Count Richard Coudenhove-Calerghi, advocated and pioneered the contemporary Pan-Europe Movement after World War One.
Europe currently consists of 49 nations, large and small, with many ethnic groups and about 200

languages. Its history was tainted with bloodshed from struggles among royalities and countries over territories, peoples as well as religious allegiance and ideologies. The two World Wars in the 20th century began in Europe. Dr. Schwimmer expressed lamentation by saying, "Precious lives of millions of young people were lost for senseless wars!"
Out of the war-torn Europe, some courageous statesmen such as Sir Winston Churchill of the Great Britain raised their voices for a peaceful and integrated Europe, leading to an establishment of the CoE, which envisioned "one Europe from Laykabik (Iceland) to Vladivostok (Russia's Far East)", as Dr. Schwimmer put it. Shortly, however, Europe was divided with the so-called 'Iron Curtain', leading to the Cold War with threats of nuclear holocaust in the latter half of the 20th century.
Right after the Berlin Wall was dismantled in 1989, Dr. Schwimmer joined the like-minded politicians and diplomats in the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE as one of Austria's representatives. Against many odds stemming from distrust and hostility, he worked hard to bring Russia into the democratic Europe in the aftermath of the Cold War . As a result, *Russia joined the CoE by 1996, then several former communist nations joined 'Common Family of Europe' (Gorbachev).
Dr. Schwimmer's endeavors for East Europe might be in tandem with the sincere efforts of True Father, *who held a meeting with then President Gorbachev in Moscow in 1990, discussing ways and means of Russia's soft-landing out of the communism.
