だいたい国際会議でマスクを外している各国要人がいるのは、それなりの感染対策の上でのこと。
当然PCR検査陰性を確認して参加しているのであるし、日常的に頻回検査を行なっているはずなのだ。
会場にはHEPAフィルター付きの空気清浄機も完備していることだろう。
まあ、日本は「鎖国」などしていない。
パンデミックに有利な島国のくせに悉く検疫に失敗してきた。
それに日米地位協定により事実上日本の国境には穴が開いている。
然るに米軍基地由来の感染拡大にも悩まされてきた。
そうでなくても世界で唯一PCR検査抑制をしてきた特異な国が日本なのだ。
コロナの特徴でもある無症状感染者を発見し隔離するためにPCRの頻回検査の体制を整えればある程度通常の社会生活も経済活動も行える。
まだ東アジアに交叉免疫があると言われていた頃、2020年の春の第１波を超えた時に検疫を緩めず、徹底的にPCR検査を拡充して隔離治療をしておけば、日本はゼロコロナも夢ではなかった。
それでも一貫してPCR検査を抑制してきたのは何故なのか？
その上、政府がマスクを外させようとは、意味不明だ。
コロナは風邪ではない。コロナ感染後遺症の問題は深刻化するだろう。
アメリカも中間選挙が終わり、バイデンは冬の感染拡大を見越して「マスク着用」を推奨しはじめているし、カナダ、オーストラリア、ヨーロッパの政府も同傾向だ。

新型コロナウイルスの第8波が来ていますけれども、3年間いろんなことを経験して、見えてきました。日本は「鎖国」をして、こんなに国民がまじめにマスクをして、それでも感染数は大体世界標準になっちゃった。今回は行動規制をかけないで、ウィズコロナで乗り越えていくことを考えています。
もちろん医療機関をしっかり確保するということと両面で努力をしていきたいが、そろそろフェーズを変えていかないと。今、国際会議に行って、マスクをしているのは日本人だけ。そのぐらい世の中、変わってきました。ここは冷静に、科学的な知見に基づいて、コロナの対処の仕方を考えていかなければいけない。
この1カ月で3人の閣僚が辞任するという事態になりました。岸田政権を支える政権与党として、ここは責任を共有しながら、信頼回復に向け、全力で頑張っていく。来年の統一地方選挙を勝ち抜いて、そして信頼回復に向けて、安定した政治に向けて、しっかり頑張ることを改めてお誓い申し上げる。（岐阜市であった自民党岐阜県連の会合で）

The Biden administration has vowed to reinstate strict mask mandates this winter now that the Democratic Party has stolen control of the Senate.
Biden’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has begun recommending wearing masks indoors once again in at least five New York counties:
Wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation. Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider taking additional precautions.
Infowars.com reports: Likewise, Los Angeles County health officials are also issuing mask guidelines, claiming that two new COVID variants are threatening to fuel another surge as winter nears.
LA County health officials will 'strongly recommend' masks indoors if COVID cases continue rising
Indoor mask wearing is currently only a matter of personal preference, unless a location or business opts to require them.
